Isaiah 6:9

Also I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send, & who will go for us? Then said I,

Here am I; send me.

“Love to Jesus is the basis of all true piety, and the intensity of this love will ever be the measure of our zeal for His glory. Let us love Him with all our hearts, and then diligent labor, and consistent living will be sure to follow.” - Charles Spurgeon

Three words come to mind when I think about Bro. Kurt Copeland: love, friendship, and service. The Lord entrusts us as preachers to minister to His people and spread the Word, and we accomplish these from a heart of love. This is the heart of Bro. Kurt.

Friendship is something very precious to us all. We need friends that might come alongside us for reproof when we need it, encouragement at just the right time, and the love of Christ they show to us. The very way the world identifies us with Christ is by how we love each other.

“By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” John 13:35

  • He is a wonderful example of a true disciple of Christ. He makes sure to encourage others and lift them up in prayer.

The last word I wish to focus on is ‘service.’ The most important part in our service is not the longevity although he has served the Lord for many years. It is not in the various facets of which we serve although he has seen many various ministry roles. Rather the importance is found in the reason we serve.

We serve the Lord simply because we love Him. It is our joy and our privilege to serve the Lord.

“Serve the LORD with gladness: come before His presence with singing.” Psalm 100:2

So it is a blessing to be able to support his evangelistic ministry in any way we can. To have grown up under his preaching and mentorship was truly a blessing, and to now be his pastor is just the same.
